The Yachana Foundation

The Yachana Foundation is dedicated to finding sustainable solutions in the struggle between the ideals of rainforest preservation and the realities of life in the Ecuadorian Amazon. They work with local communities to improve education, develop community-based ecotourism programs, establish sustainable agricultural practices, provide environmentally sustainable economic alternatives, and conserve the rainforest.

In October 2007 The Tribes Foundation helped fund a micro-enterprise business including fire extinguishers, wiring and other building materials for the workshop, and piping and other materials for a water system made from a bicycle rim, soup spoons and a car alternator! Lastly we helped the agronomy program with a much needed tool shed.
